What I Learned most from my challenge is how easy it is to fall into everyday routine and not take time to sit and reflect and truly appreciate nature's surroundings. Throughout my Echochallenge I was encouraged to go out into nature and practice gratitude. I also was challenged by remembering the 7 principles of leave no trace ethics, which can sometimes be controversial when going camping or hiking with friends. The hardest challenge for me by far was remembering to sit and reflect each day on my experiences. I've decided to carry around a small journal with me wherever ago, to write any observations, thoughts, or ideas I may have throughout the day. I think this will better help me improve on reflecting on my adventures and experiences. I did enjoy this Ecochallenge, and I feel as though I will take these principles I've learned with me everywhere.

Today was much more peaceful. the sun was out, but you could see the impact that the wind and rain had on our community. I am thankful for the people in our community and their work to help everyone recover from the storm. Today, my son took pictures of the clouds. It is fun to see his view of nature through the lens of a camera. He and I can look at the same sky and see two very different scenes.

Yesterday was a stormy day for us here in the U.P. The winds ripped trees from the ground and limbs from the highest point. To see the power of nature is incredible. I was able to walk in the evening. The wind was so loud and rain so powerful that it was difficult to  see or hear as I walked my dog. Moments like these are humbling.

I used to do this because it annoyed me to have the water needlessly running but now after realizing how much water it really can save in a day, it is now my new reason for doing so!

Last night i went on another bike ride but as many of us know, the weather has been crazy. Before I went on my bike ride, I made sure to plan ahead and prepare for the weather by using the W.I.S.E. layering concept.
