I have been trying to get rain barrels for my yard, especially during this weekend when it rained so hard - but so many barrels are sold out! I have been using a series of buckets and hoses under my gutter to collect, this will turn into a real rain barrel someday - hopefully soon!

The challenge where I eat meals (dinner specifically) not in front of the TV or another distraction has been way harder than I thought!! Also the refined sugars one was a nice thought - Office candy took me out of the running for that one ;)

Here is an update on our front lawn replacement project. It is scheduled to be completed tomorrow, on the last day of the Ecochallenge. Now I am looking forward to getting reduced water bills. :

My family decided to replace a front lawn with hardscaping, gravel passes and a small garden for which there will be no more need for sprinklers. I am very excited about that! Our front yard changed so dramatically during the last two weeks that a few visitors this week thought that they got lost.

Thank you Russell! The project is in the process, so each day brings some surprises. I can't wait when an apple tree and a few blueberry bushes are planted. :)

Welp - made it 6 days before forgetting my reusable coffee mug. Now the paper cup goes into my plastic trash bag that I will carry around for the remainder of the challenge. Lesson learned...
