Alan Bookman 10/26/2017 6:09 AMTaking care of the earth is a daily challenge. -
Louisa Lubiak 10/25/2017 1:14 PMI was not able to complete all my challenges every day, and I wasn't able to fulfill my one-time challenge. :-( However, I did donate some $$ to NWEI, which I try to do every year, so I did manage to accrue some extra points. :-) -
Carey Compton 10/25/2017 12:47 PMLooking forward to putting all the sustainable challenges into more daily sustainable habits for the rest of the year until we come together again during the next 2018 Ecological Challenge to add even more. Thank you. -
Joann Held 10/25/2017 11:46 AMShipped 22 lbs of dental care product packaging, 8 lb of Brita Filters, and 16 pounds of wine corks today - all collected at the Farmers Market this season. That's about 45 lbs of waste going to make new products instead of being sent to a landfill. And... my basement is a lot less cluttered!-
Carey Compton 10/25/2017 12:51 PMWOW! We have a lot to look up to with all your sustainable activities and miles to catch up to all you do. Thank you Joann

Rebecca Snook 10/25/2017 9:43 AMI think you definitely can:D -
i q 10/25/2017 12:12 PMWhy not? And I saw you out doors today, looking as though you were eating mindfully. Good for you! -
Carey Compton 10/25/2017 12:53 PMYes you can and we will follow! Keep up the good sustainable habits Alan!

Audrey Dorofy 10/25/2017 9:31 AMI was a bit short-sighted in selecting one of my challenges because I forgot I was going on vacation for a week. It is hard to de-clutter and clean my house when 1,000 miles away. Oops. But I did get a lot of walking in. Here is a picture I took of a Little Blue Heron at the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel, Florida.-
Carey Compton 10/25/2017 12:55 PM
What a beautiful photo Audrey! Looks and sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. Thanks for sharing.

Joann Held 10/24/2017 6:49 PMTrying to reduce the amount of junk mail that I receive. During this Challenge period I: opted out of one Catalogue using Catalogue Choice; asked to be removed from one mailing list using DMA Choice; and sent notes to 13 companies using the postage paid envelopes included in their solicitation. Not much compared to the enormous stack of junk mail, but at least it's a start.-
Audrey Dorofy 10/25/2017 9:36 AMThat is a good idea. I usually stand over the recycling bin tossing in all the junk mail before it even gets into my house. So much better to prevent it from coming in the first place.

Carey Compton 10/24/2017 6:31 PMWe have an electric mower and have planted more and more areas with drought resistant grass so I think that counts. I will also continue to plant more and minimize the lawn area the rest of the year until we are challenged again in 2018 in the Eco Challenge. Thank you for the fun in learning how to become more sustainable one habit at a time.

Joan Olawski-Stiener 10/24/2017 11:36 AMEnjoyed a nice 2+ mile walk in a park we've never been in before. It was beautiful, next to a golf course. Picked up 15 bottles, cups, and cans for recycling. -
