Nicola Knipe 10/24/2017 5:42 PMWe are slowly replacing our lawn, that most useless of ground covers! The lawn industry is a frightening monoculture of chemical pesticides and endless thirst for fresh water. Instead, we plant native flowers, vegetables, and herbs, and have just added a tiny fish pond that cycles nutrients -- and may become a meditative spot for those leisure moments I expect to have one day.
