    Sick day with my kiddo today.  I do have a promise from a friend to help me learn how to make kombucha and how to can fruits and veggies.  So definitely some background research that will help me meet my goals.

      Homemade kombucha is so much fun, you can do so many different things with it and explore flavors you normally would not see. Have fun!!! :D

    I know I do not eat a wide diversity of seafood but i did not realize what the top 5 common seafood is in US: Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, Tilapia, Pollock

    Mondays are a delight- three yoga classes AND it was a beautiful fall day.  Want to get my kids back in the habit of biking to school.

    Exercise fun at 360 gymnastics today!  Celebrating my son's 6th birthday.  Serving some local apples to the kids tonight :)

    Another beautiful morning to go for a walk and catch up with some friends on the phone.  Was able to get a hold of a friend on the east coast and talk to her about her mom and family.

    I had my boys watch Supersize Me as our food related documentary.  They are only 5 and 8 but I think it sunk in and they are a little more aware of what the impact is of fast food, especially on personal health.  We'll keep working in the environmental impact awareness.

    Checked out seafoodwatch.org today and looked up recommendations for Salmon.  It is fascinating to see all of the global resources/habitats for this species.  They break down recommendations into three categories: best choice, good alternative, and avoid.  You can click on each fish source and get a full report on how they quantitatively were evaluated and get a description of the potential concerns.
