Certain challenges are significantly more difficult for me then others- namely, turning off the water while I brush my teeth is really easy because of the new dorm bathrooms, while a 5 minute shower feels like a more radical life style change. The juxtaposition here is probably because of the dorm I am currently living in, and so I think a large part of what makes a challenge difficult for someone is where they live and what they have access too. In a communal bathroom, shutting off the water while brushing my teeth comes naturally in a place where other people need to use the sinks and I need to get out of the way. On the other hand, the showers provide a great escape from sweaty-ness of a dorm and the 3 people that are always in the room with the window blowing in cold air, and so reducing the amount of time I have in the shower reduces time I have to think in peace. If I was back home and not in a dorm, I would have to be much more proactive preventing water waste if I was  in a private sink enjoying a slow morning, while my home's lack of hot water would cut my showers short. I feel like for truly maximizing this challenge, and incorporating it into daily life, would require me actively changing my surrounding instead of trying to use will power to reteach myself better habits. So instead of saying something like "I need to drive less" I'd have to actively not invest in a new car and instead rent a bike and learn the bus routes.
