Having been actively conscious of my footprint for many years, I wish to take this challenge to really focus on how much (or rather how little) waste we need to make if we change our habits ever so slightly. Buying local, taking re-usable bags, not buying single-use plastics and packaged goods and thinking about need versus want is a good way to avoid making waste...and knowing that I am collecting everything in a tub that can't be recycled, composted or re-used is a good visual focus.
