The challenge has been helpful to get me off the dime and do some one-time things I've been meaning to do but keep putting on the backburner such as going paperless with bill paying and purchasing carbon offsets .  More walking and eating without distractions will continue to be  my daily challenges going forward even after the official...

Only 3 more days to the Eco Challenge.  The Owls are a competitive bunch.  We are in 3rd place among WA teams with 1975 points as of this morning.  The other Episcopal churches competing have smaller teams:  Ascension with 6 members has 639 points.  Saint Mark's with 4 members has 183 points. St. Stephens with a 1 person team has 90 points. ...

Just wondering if anyone can confirm that the purchase of carbon offsets does NOT qualify as a charitable gift??  If it does qualify, I could request a match from my company....

Six members of our team, the St. John Owls, participated in the Snohomish Crop Walk today.  An amazing fall day with neighborhoods full of trees in brilliant autumn colors.  So we walked, communed with nature, and enjoyed the company of walkers from throughout the community of Snohomish.  We walked for those who must walk for water and food...

A great 20th Annual Snohomish CROP Hunger Walk today.  A lovely fall day in Western Washington with walkers having a good time walking one step at a time to help end hunger globally and in our own community.  Thank you to all who participated.

So far my biggest challenge is remembering to post what I did on the day of, not the next day.....because I always want to wait till the end of the day to make sure I accomplished my challenges, and then I forget.......Maybe I need to set a phone reminder.

So far, I have removed 3 shopping bags of clutter from various closets in my house.  Good Will has gained 3 bags of clutter.  Not sure if that is progress or not.

Day 1 down. Tomorrow looking for some additional challenges.

I'm walking even if it's raining as I have vowed not to be a fair weather walker.  So far neither Keeper or I have melted.  Guess sunshine is over-rated!

Since I started the 2017 Eco-Challenge I have been recycling paper/cardboard and aluminum cans at work for greater impact.
