Christ Church Emerging Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

I see where I made my mistake this year. I set myself 3 different tasks each day and would complete two out of three, instead of three out of three. If I had only given myself 2 tasks each day,my results would have been far better. Oh, well.  I do have to mention a really great book for anyone which I've been enjoying and learning so much--The Urban Bestiary, Encountering the Everyday Wild, by Lyanda Lynn Haupt. Seriously, if you want to read about wildlife in our urban/suburban setting, you'll love this. So much info in an interesting book!

I am thankful for warm slippers on a chilly evening, thoughtful friends who know me well and the opportunity to share perspectives on eco-stewardship and justice with people of many different faith traditions this coming weekend.

I am grateful for dramatic rain and shine weather today, the dedication of the staff of the Adult Day Center of Somerset County and friendly Election Board staff at City Hall.

I couldn't add to my post, and I wanted to say that I watched this cute squirrel dig a hole, I guess to bury an acorn. The other photo is looking out our church window, Christ Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, onto our little garden. Thanks to warm weather, it is still blooming.

Okay, well, considering we were driving home from Pittsburgh today, ie 6 1/2 hrs and then I taught watercolor tonight, I did not do any of the three challenges I set myself.

Challenge continues apace.  Fell down on the distracted meal thing today however.

Took a long wandering walk through the autumn woods with colored leaves dancing on the breeze.

Morning encounter in the backyard.  Anyone know what kind of snake this is?

I am grateful for dedicated church leaders, joining a GreenFaith Circle to promote environmental stewardship and justice in my area and the beginning of a new good novel.
