With a few small changes in my daily habits I can see the difference one person can make on our environment.  I look forward to continuing these changes and looking for new ones to add to it.  A great challenge for everyone!

I volunteer my time and money with a local non profit, North Florida Land Trust.  Their mission is to permanently preserve natural areas and special places in North Florida through the acquisition of conservation real estate.  I'm proud to be a small part of conserving and protecting our land, our wildlife, and our environment.  You can learn more by going to www.northfloridalandtrust.org.

Waste not, want not - I repurpose everything in the refrigerator each week into a meal, so that no food goes to waste.  Bones left over from a roaster - make chicken stock, Spinach left over, cook it into a frittata, tomatoes going soft - make a tomato sauce

Planting an herb garden was the easiest challenge.   I use herbs in most all my cooking and having them at my doorstep is even better!   Planted basil, flat leaf parsley, sage, oregano and cilantry

When purchasing groceries, I am conscious as to whether the packaging can be recycled or if needs to go in trash.  I buy only fresh produce and always bring my tote bags from home

I've always been for conscious of recycling and thinking of ecology.  This challenge has expanded my ways to contribute to our planet, it is the only one we have. :-)
