Leigh Wheeler 10/20/2017 8:49 AMYour Eco Thought for today: To remain indifferent to the challenges we face is indefensible. If the goal is noble, whether or not it is realized within our lifetime is largely irrelevant. What we must do therefore is to strive and persevere and never give up. -Dalai Lama -

Leigh Wheeler 10/16/2017 3:22 PMYour EcoTip of the day: Bring back the clothesline!: Using a clothesline to dry your clothes whenever possible is a great way to reduce carbon emissions.

Leigh Wheeler 10/15/2017 2:19 PMI tended the garden today. I rinse (1 minute) and dry (2-3 weeks) my eggshells, crush them in a paper sack with a rolling pin, and then spread them on the garden for calcium. It is very slow release so at this point I still need to add bio-available calcium for the tomatoes at planting time, but long term it should work well. I also just ordered The Mother Earth News Guide to Vegetable Gardening: Building and Maintaining Healthy Soil * Wise Watering * Pest Control Strategies * Home Composting ... of Growing Guides for Fruits and Vegetables
