Whole foods, sugar-free day 3. In all honesty, being vegan and eating whole foods takes a lot of time in food prep. But in some way I feel more thoroughly invested in what I'm consuming, which leads both to a feeling of being more alive and as a by product, a slower life--a life in which I touch and process every piece of food on my plate. I think I'm coming to understand more what Thoreau meant when he said, "Wealth is the ability to fully experience life."

For me, the biggest obstacle to any major lifestyle change is mentally breaking down that change into small, short-term achievable goals (e.g. eventually I want to get rid of my car but I'm starting by biking anywhere I go that's less than 30 miles). So, thanks to the ecochallenge team for a creative way to work on my next steps!

That's a great way of doing it. I've had a lot of success in doing it that way myself.
Thanks for being on the team Elise! Glad to be hear with you!
