I have to say, as soon as something in my schedule got challenging, the exercising went right out the window.  I'm still in recovery mode from this cold and it's amazing how quickly I feel winded.  The other two challenges were pretty easy for me, but looking at the selection of options, it's interesting to see how difficult some of those lifestyle changes would be for me. Pretty cool challenge to keep people mindful of their actions every day!

Agreed! Some are super hard! I find sugar super hard whereas riding the bus and walking are pretty easy...we are all challenged in different areas!

I didn't get my 30 mins of exercise in today.  I think I'm coming down with a cold so I ended up coming home early from work to try to sleep it off.  Hoping I can get back to it by the weekend!

Another rain free run this morning!  I did get up at 5:30 in order to fit it in, but by 10am I was actually thinking how nice it was to know I'd gotten my exercise already and didn't feel more tired than normal. I may get used to waking up early and fitting morning runs into my schedule! We'll see how I feel by the end of the day!  Got my lunch in snapware and deleting the Facebook app from my phone has been the best thing ever!

It was hard to keep up on my 30 minutes of exercise over the weekend.  Not necessarily because I don't do a lot, but because I'm always running around doing things that take a lot of energy.  Just cleaning my house and cooking family dinner that I hosted on Sunday night for my siblings and niece took a lot of time.  So I didn't necessarily work out, but I certainly expended a lot of energy.

I did force myself out for a run today though, I didn't want to because I was tired, but I figured it may be the only non-rainy run I can get in this week!

Nice job on the run! I usually feel loads better after exercise, hope you did, too! :D

I didn't use a reusable container for lunch because I had a card for buy one get one free at Chipotle that was expiring that day! So instead of packing a lunch I grabbed a friend and ate giant burritos.

After yesterday I really didn't want to go outside this morning when I saw it was raining again, but I reminded myself that I've never felt bad after a run.  So off I went with my pup Stanley and he got to sniff out some new parts of the neighborhood including the PCC Cascade campus.  It's definitely motivating to see how much he enjoys these morning runs!  I did wonder however, since I usually shower every other day and now I'm showering every morning I run - is it making that much of a difference?  I didn't think I could limit my showers to 5 minutes so I didn't pick that challenge, but now I'm using even more water to get ready in the morning each week.  Hmmm, there's always a balance I guess!

Yes! The Water Bureau has lots of help for conserving water, here's some info with a link from their website -you'll probably have to copy/paste the link though.

Pick up a FREE water conservation kit at the Water Bureau’s first floor customer service center at 1120 SW 5th Avenue in downtown Portland. Walk-in service center hours are between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Click here to see what is included in the kit.  https://www.portlandoregon.gov/water/article/358406

Ha! Duggan just gave me a 5 minute shower timer that suction cups to the wall! He got it from the city...they must have more...

    Hi all,

My name is Christa, I'm not in your class but I'll be meeting you all the day after this challenge ends for a presentation!  Today I went running for the first time in about a year and a half!  I took my dog with me which was a new experience for him.  We did not miss the heavy rain this morning, but I'm glad to have the challenge to start exercising again! I packed my lunch in my snapware - if you don't own it, it's the best investment I've ever made for Tupperware.  Be careful though, I've had to tell my roommates they can't take it out of the house because they kept losing pieces! Haven't even checked social media today since I deleted Facebook from my phone to help resist the temptation.
