Luciana Ranelli 10/11/2017 3:00 PMHey team--reaching out for help and ideas here. I chose an action of making 1 phone call a day to a public official or company. I chose it because it's hard for me to do it and because I wanted to work on it. That said, I didn't make enough time in my day today to (1) research who to call and what to call about or even (2) make the call. Dang it! But we're doing this in community, so I figured some of you may have tips or tricks (or at the very least encouragement) to share.-
Gemma Laser 10/13/2017 7:45 PMI love that you are doing this challenge Luciana! I'll try to follow in your footsteps next year :)
5calls.org is new to me so I'll have to remember it or have you/Kelsey remind me. (Because even if you are "finished" here before us you won't be finished from our cohort!) -
Luciana Ranelli 10/12/2017 7:42 AMThanks Gemma and Kelsey. I re-found "5calls.org" thanks to you, and already called today!! It took under 10 minutes to figure out what to call about, who to call, and to make the call. Started with a northern MN issue close to my heart, and clearly have time to expand to this NH area over the next couple weeks. -
Gemma Laser 10/11/2017 5:54 PMAnother list of action organizations (see esp. NH Pipeline Resistance?)

Also League of Conservation Voters doesn't appear to have a New Hampshire affiliate but they have links to federal actions. Perhaps others?

Gemma Laser 10/11/2017 5:43 PMLuciana, I love your question! Thanks for reaching out :) I really admired your choosing this challenge, so I'd love to support you in it as best I can. I would love to help research more, though I really shouldn't spend too long tonight. This is what I found so far:
http://environmentnewhampshire.org/issues
There are campaigns listed with actions suggested. I don't know if they list names and phone numbers but finding those for Keene (state level) and NH (federal level) shouldn't be hard. I can help with that tomorrow if needed. I have another idea of reaching out to a Maine org I know to hopefully find out if they have a counterpart in NH. I'll keep you posted! -
Kelsey Bearden 10/11/2017 5:24 PMNot to put words in your mouth, so to speak, but here are a couple of ('progressive') resources I found back last fall that may help.
-Antiextremism: https://dailyaction.org
-More customizable issues: https://5calls.org
-Not sure if this is one is an approach you're after (resisting the Trump agenda) BUT they have lots of consolidated info by state and by issue on what's going on politically, so it's a good resource if you want to dig and choose who to call about what: www.resistancemanual.org
