Powering down my computer has become a habit of mine now because of this challenge. Before I was unaware that just simply closing my computer was not putting it to sleep, I instead had to just click a few buttons in order to save my battery and some CO2 from going into the atmosphere.
Eating Mindfully has been a little difficult for me because I feel like some of the only time I can communicate with certain people is while I'm eating or cooking my dinner. It's also a pretty big habit of mine to surf the web while I'm eating so I've been working on putting the phone down. Some days though, it's just harder than others.
5 minute showers can be difficult some days, but I've figured out a routine that allows me to get clean and keep it between 5-6 minutes. What I found that helps is putting on a song, looking at the time of that song, just to gage about how long you've been in the shower. I've also realized I can cut my time down by washing my face before or after my shower, in the end saving water as well.
Eating ZERO meatless meals a day. Not going to lie, this one has been the most difficult. For the soul purpose of, I seriously forget! I was in the middle of eating a footlong the other day and as I've almost finished the entire thing, I just then remembered...the eco challenge. And a few days before I did the same thing with chicken wings... I've gotten better and more aware of my food choices but quite honestly it's been super hard to find meals I want to eat (not at my house) with no meat in them. I thought this one would be a lot easier because I don't ever eat more than one meat meal a day, but apparently that one chicken sandwich or chicken quesadilla my body really wants.
