Keri HADLEY 9/26/2017 2:36 PMGrowing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have always been surrounded by a culture that is connected to the environment. Therefore, when I started my own household up, at a very young age, I made it a point to always recycle & reuse as many materials as possible.
I continue to do this to this day, but I also find ways to reuse the simplest of products/materials.
Lately, I have been reusing plastic sandwich bags, bags that loaves of bread come in, and to-go containers. I simply rinse them out and put them on the dish drying rack, store them in a drawer once dry and reuse them. The plastic bags that loaves of bread come in are especially useful for day trips with family and friends to the beach or river when I am packing multiple sandwiches for my crew. These may sound like simple things, but little things do count.
I also save the sturdy spoons that come with my favorite froyo treat and keep a few in my car (because I like to stay on the go), a few at work and a few in my utensil drawer. They are lightweight and very useful for camping and backpacking. It drives me crazy when I see things like that thrown in a garbage can!
I witness my teenage children following my lead once in a while, so that serves as motivator too! Even when they complain when I remind them, they eventually do it on their own eventually anyway ;-)

Keri
