Lauren's actions
Health
Go get a check up
I will make an appointment for my annual physical.
Water
5-Minute Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 per day that I do this.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 15 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Lauren Gottfredson 10/18/2017 9:12 AMEcochallenge always falls on a very busy time for us at The Intertwine Alliance, and it has been really hard to find the time to get outside! Even as an organization that advocates for this type of activity.-
Lin Harmon-Walker 10/25/2017 10:09 PMWe had the same problem over at GPSEN! I think we also share a problem with recruiting team members - we are both networks of organizations that are already working on sustainability themselves (and have their own teams, in many cases). But thanks for participating with us!

Lauren Gottfredson 10/16/2017 2:39 PMI used to only power down my computer over the weekends since it takes a while to reboot, but knowing how much energy it is using I chose it for one of my challenges, and now I just use that extra time to make my (first) cup of coffee! -
Lauren Gottfredson 10/13/2017 2:38 PMIt is much harder to find time to sit outdoors, even small amounts, this time of year. Both because of busy work schedules and the weather. But if I can make the habit when it is hard hopefully I can maintain it throughout the year!
