So far the challenge has been relatively easy. Normally, I take long showers at the end of the day. Now I have resorted taking showers in the morning when I am more pressed for time to get ready. Other than water usage, I noticed that it has been a little harder to cut meat usage in my diet. After a daily workout, it is tempting to find a source of protein like chicken or other various meats. The issue does not lie knowing what contains beneficial nutrients, but rather what is being served for that day at Whitney Dining Center. Majority of the foods served contain numerous calories that come from density packed carbohydrates. A few days out of the week there will be quinoa and other dishes that contain beans, but the variety and fulfillment is not there. I find myself eating extra helpings trying to obtain the certain nutrients, but also consume a lot more calories.
