Esther Forbyn 10/25/2017 1:07 PMToday is the final day of the challenge! I've been inspired to change my entire commute regime leading to lots of walking and public transit use. I've been walking to the store, walking to the shuttle and spending plenty of time outside. I have reinvigorated my interest in gardening. I'm stepping into another Portland winter feeling stoked on my community and neighborhood. -

Esther Forbyn 10/23/2017 9:29 AMIt's Monday morning and I am happy to report that I experienced another relaxing commute onboard the PCC shuttle! I'm so happy to be saving money, getting a morning walk in, keeping CO2 out of our atmosphere, and listening to podcasts instead of battling traffic.-

Esther Forbyn 10/13/2017 2:18 PMDay three of the Ecochallenge is going well enough. I didn't get to ride the shuttle today so I'm not reaching my public transit goal for the day. But I did get to work with a crew of amazing students at the Rock Creek PCC learning garden preping for tomorrow's harvest fair. I spent a few hours picking pumpkins and weeding. I'm going to apply that to my Tend a Garden challenge. I took a walk and said hi to the lamas before heading to my office. Who doesn't love a lama? Look at this guy! -

Esther Forbyn 10/11/2017 8:21 AMI had a lovely crisp 20 min walk to the PCC Green Line shuttle at Cascade campus. I enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful fall colors. Now I'm all set to sit back, drink coffee, and enjoy the ride while with our trusty driver at the wheel. Day one of ecochallenge is off to a great start! -
Esther Forbyn 9/25/2017 2:19 PMI did a trial run of my commute via the free PCC shuttle this morning and it was great! I had a brisk walk from my home to Cascade Campus and a relaxing shuttle ride to my office at Sylvania Campus. It was much more relaxing to sit back and listen to an audiobook than to be fighting my way through traffic. The beginning of the EcoChallenge is still a few weeks away. I'm excited to be working towards a car-free couple of weeks! -

It is a beautiful fall day here at the PCC Sylvania Campus. I'm excited to see students returning for the fall term this coming Monday. The shuttles will be operating again and I will be riding PCC's free Green Line shuttle from Cascade to Sylvania. I look forward to a relaxing commute listening to podcasts and music while our shuttle driver takes the wheel instead of driving myself through stressful traffic.

Zachariah Strife 9/13/2017 9:47 AMThis is a great idea for reducing impact. Who really wants to drive through Portland traffic?
