Alyssa Farnsworth 10/25/2017 11:45 AMwho knew it could be so hard to motivate team members to be engaged and participate. Coming up with funny and interesting, yet short and sweet, emails has been really challenging! -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/25/2017 8:28 AMI've found that tracking purchases can also be hard when you and your husband both have a card for the same account. Purchases go through without you even knowing about it! I've found its much easier to just check my account everyday rather than trying to collect receipts and re-write it in a log. -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/24/2017 12:32 PMWe followed the signs from forested trail to residential street. I've always wondered what those hike signs were for! It was just to follow them to see where we ended up and who knew they were actually marked trails that can be searched online! -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/23/2017 7:43 AMIt's really not fun to track the large purchases compared to all the small ones when moving/house buying. Washer and Dryer expense seems so large, but nothing compared to all of the other furniture we require! -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/20/2017 7:42 AMI am loving this walk 20 minutes a day thing, and so does my dog. Definitely a habit I will strive to maintain. -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/19/2017 9:04 AMIt is getting harder and harder to keep track of my purchases as I don't like to get paper receipts, so I have receipts coming through email at different times as well as planned payments that automatically post. Really shows me how important it is to track these things if I want to keep a realistic budget! -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/18/2017 7:47 AMInteresting to track purchases when you are moving... I guess a washer and dryer aren't part of my normal budget, but at least I got the HE models! -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/13/2017 8:31 AMI noticed when logging my grocery purchases that I was double charged for my 1-pack of frozen blueberries. At first I was annoyed at them, then I was annoyed at myself, because I knew we were all talking when he was scanning my items and neither of us were paying attention. Plus, they were very helpful providing me with a ton of sturdy boxes for my upcoming move. Goes to show I need to be more present not only when selecting my items for purchase but also during the purchasing. Logging my purchases has been quite eye opening to how flagrant I have become - especially in grocery shopping! -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/12/2017 7:47 AMI watched Cowspiracy last night. I was very hesitant to watch a food documentary because I knew seeing the poor conditions most factory farms maintain their animals in would make me sad and feel powerless to the "meat machine". This documentary was different, it really approached the issue from a sustainability standpoint and I really appreciated that. I did still cry through have of it, but I feel that I can start making changes through learning more and making smart food choices. I've never been a huge fan of meat and diary protein, so finding alternatives to that could be easy and rewarding. Milk and cheese are going to be harder, but I know in time I could learn to live with other alternatives. I am also going to watch more documentaries and keep researching so that I can be informed about the food resources available to me. -
Alyssa Farnsworth 10/11/2017 8:03 AMSince I have cloud storage, I don't need to worry as much about my wifi external HD memory storage being on all day long. I used to keep my computer on all day and night, now I have it off and will only turn it on when needed tonight.
