glendra engen 10/24/2017 9:28 PMmy daughter had a our granddaughter on Saturday and I'm spending time with them to help with my 2 year old grandson. Hanging out with them, it's been a challenge to get onto the computer and log my progress. However, it has been great for cutting down on screen time! -

glendra engen 10/19/2017 2:50 PMone way I'm trying to disconnect from electronics is to put my phone on the counter top (face down & ringer off) when I get home from work and making an effort to engage my family in conversation.. it's not always easy, but if I catch myself headed to pick up my phone, I redirect and find something else to do!

glendra engen 10/18/2017 3:19 PMone of my challenges is to only buy things I need. wow - really tough!! especially when a co-worker tells me I deserve to buy something.. I resisted though! whew, that was difficult!! -
glendra engen 10/17/2017 8:44 AMat work and home, I get funny looks when I dig through the garbage and pull out recyclable things... If I ask someone why they threw a recyclable item away, sometimes I get this answer, "I wasn't sure if it could be recycled".
I'm ready to put up a sign that says "when in doubt, don't throw it out!"

Todd Hutchinson 10/17/2017 8:50 AMI have the opposite problem: at work and at home, people put a lot in the recycling that isn't recyclable! Good that they're trying, but they're making more work for the people who have to sort it, and adding to the volume that gets transported twice.

glendra engen 10/16/2017 9:56 AMI received a call last week from the "Neilson rating" people.. They asked if they could send a TV tracker for us to fill out for one week and I agreed. Started filling it out Friday and it's amazing to see how little TV we actually watch! I'm proud of our family!

glendra engen 10/13/2017 1:04 PMsometimes it's easy to just drop things in the garbage can without thinking and walk away. I cleaned out the car this morning and dropped everything in the garbage can... after I thought about it, I walked back and picked out the plastic water bottle and threw it in the recycle bin! duh! couldn't believe I did it to begin with! -
glendra engen 10/09/2017 10:18 AMlast year I purchased reusable coffee cups for my co-workers and gave each person a cup filled with home-made candy as a Christmas present. :)
