I took on two challenges which were taking five minute showers and turning off electronics that I am not using. To be completely honest, these tasks were very hard for me when I started because I usually like to take my time and wake myself up with a shower in the morning and for the other, I often forget to turn everything off when I leave a room. However, now I have started to get used to both of these things after a week of committing to them. I have gotten into the habit of hurrying in the shower to stay under five minutes which I have found to actually help with getting ready in the morning. Even though I enjoy taking my time in the shower, this allows me to be ready to go so much faster and as a result I can actually sleep in a couple minutes longer! As for turning things off when I'm not using them, it was very tedious at first to double check everything. But now that I am in the routine of doing this, I don't even think about it and I just do it. Both challenges have mental and physical rewards which are allowing me to sleep longer and me feeling better knowing that I'm doing something to help reduce emissions by stopping the unecessary waste of energy. Overall, it was hard for me at first, but I now find both of my Eco challenges to be going great!
