Danielle Cacdac 10/25/2017 3:30 PMI can't believe it's the last day! There's so many changes for the better that has occurred in my life these past few days, and I 'm really grateful for that. I recently started composting, and I'm really excited about that. Today, I'm going to the doctor for a checkup. -
Danielle Cacdac 10/23/2017 11:20 PMUnfortunately, I didn't bring my own lunch to school today. There was no food in the fridge, and I didn't have time to prepare my lunch. The good thing is that I'm getting better at remembering to bring my own water bottle and thermos, so that I don't need to buy tea from Starbucks on my way to school or buy bottled water. -
Danielle Cacdac 10/21/2017 9:37 PMIn addition to taking 5 minute showers, I've started collecting the leftover water after you release the stopper from the shower head. One finished shower releases about half of the spray bottle that I use to collect, which I then use to water the house plants. -
Danielle Cacdac 10/20/2017 5:32 PMToday was a pretty productive day. I spent the day with my dogs at home while getting a lot of work done. -
Danielle Cacdac 10/19/2017 8:09 PMThis is the first term I've ever brought my own lunch. I've always bought food from the Sylvania canteen, and it's pretty expensive, so it's nice to save money and reduce the plastic containers that go into the trash. -
Danielle Cacdac 10/18/2017 6:27 PMToday, I stopped by the Sylvania learning garden. The working party ended early, but they still let me take some fruits and veggies home. I'm probably going to bake the acorn squash I took home in a few days. -
Danielle Cacdac 10/17/2017 7:52 PMUnfortunately, I had to log in to my social media multiple times for a business class assignment. Luckily, I was able to clear my other challenges. I didn't need to travel today, so I stayed at home o do some homework. my family also has a laptop that can't be closed because it may break if it's closed, so I made sure to turn off the computer the night before when no one was using it and this morning when everyone else left for work and school.
Besides these challenges, I've had reduced my usual meat consumption for lunch today. About half of the meat I usually eat is filled with cabbage, carrots, and tomatoes. Yum! -
Danielle Cacdac 10/15/2017 9:42 PMIt's not one of my challenges, but I spent most of the day away from the computer today. My sister wanted to solve a puzzle, so that's what we did for a good amount of time. -
Danielle Cacdac 10/13/2017 3:30 PMSo far, so good! Other than for school work, I have used my computer for social media only once per day. I've also decided to stay at home these past two days, so there's no need for me to use disposable utensils and containers (and use up fuel). Before ecochallenge started, I tried to limit my showers to under 5 minutes, but no matter how quickly I thought I went, 5 minutes always seemed too quick. Instead of going as fast as I can, I went for the alternative: turn off the water when I'm shampooing, conditioning, and using the soap. It's not too bad as I thought!
