Create Your Own Action

Meditation

I will meditate for ten minutes each day to foster greater mindfulness and to reflect on the importance of life! Ten minutes is not much and I can certainly find the time to do this much each day!

Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Never fear. If you miss a day checking in you can use the back arrow on the left of the current day on the checkin page to pick up the missed day.

I wrote down three things that I'm grateful for today and then I meditated for awhile! I chose to write down that I am grateful for: my oven, my blender, and my attitude! I think that I was more at peace after I meditated then when I began!

I learned of the Eco Challenge last year from Keith Idling from the Animal Ministry; at the animal ministry we like to encourage people to consider the ecological consequences of the animal agriculture industry- they range from pollution to species extinction and everything in between! Reducing the amount of animal products in one's diet really does go a long way towards contributing not only to the animals affected but to the environment and to the cause of humanity as well. Keith was excited to get people on board with the Eco Challenge and he really likes to have communication between the various social justice causes within the church!

Since last year's Eco Challenge I have incorporated the actions that I undertook into my everyday life, and since I already live a very low impact lifestyle I've mostly chosen tasks related to mindfulness for this year!
