One of my challenges is to eat one meatless meal a day. Back home, my family would usually eat meat with every meal (we ate our own pigs and cattle). However, eating here has more vegetarian options, which makes it a lot easier to reduce the amount of meat eaten. Today I went the whole day without eating meat, and i wasn't even trying to do this challenge. I love meat to much to become a vegetarian, but i do believe I can reduce the amount of meat I eat.

For me personally, the energy challenge goals were the easiest to complete, and are probably some of the simplest ways to help reduce your carbon footprint. I already did a lot of the things suggested to reduce energy, because my parents taught me how to not be wasteful. I have always done things like shut off lights when I'm not in the room and shut off the water when brushing my teeth. However, living in a dorm has limited my ability to save energy. I have no control over the temperature or the type of light bulbs, but i do have control of how much i use them. During the day, i turn of all the lights and open the blinds to let in the sunlight. I also have unplugged the microwave and fridge when I am not using them. Being in college limits my ability to complete a lot of these challenges, but doing little things can make a big impact in the long run.
