Jamey Berg 10/25/2017 9:27 AMWrapping it up today with some reflections on my experience. I'm was very motivated by the process to deal with some issues that I knew needed attention (switching to LEDs, getting rid of catalogues, getting a check up, reducing my shower time. It also felt great to achieve things on a daily basis toward my goals of simplifying my life, improving my health and enjoying the environment around us. -
Jamey Berg 10/24/2017 10:12 AMJust saw the doctor to get my annual check up and biometrics. It's amazing how little of my visit was focused on diet. It was mostly a quick run down of any aches and pains. Oh well, I guess conventional medicine will eventually get the message. -
Jamey Berg 10/23/2017 7:40 AMStarted my catalogue purge this morning. Two down, many more to go... -
Jamey Berg 10/22/2017 10:20 AMWatched Food Inc. last night. It really shines a light on the serious issues with our food economy. Homegrown/local/organic is definitely the way to go when possible. I also really like the idea of voting with each purchase you make (not just with food). As a consumer, we have a lot more power than we think. -
Jamey Berg 10/21/2017 8:18 PMInspired by Ken Gorton's post, my wife and I just went out for a walk in the rain to take a little break from the kids. It hit the spot. -
Jamey Berg 10/21/2017 7:37 PMI finally did it. All meals today were distraction free! It's a little easier to hit this one on the weekend when most meals are with the family though. -
Jamey Berg 10/20/2017 7:35 AMHeading out on the trails again today. Might even see a few mushrooms around this time. -
Jamey Berg 10/19/2017 1:36 PMI'm finding that limiting my morning shower time (to 5 min.) and cutting out news via screens is giving my more time to relax before work and when needed take care of additional things around the house. I am surprised what a positive impact this is having. -
Jamey Berg 10/18/2017 7:22 AMI'm enjoying keeping it simple and trimming back my screen time. My son and I went to a screening of the documentary film Screenagers about teenage issues with screen use, social media and video games last night. It's a good one that I'd recommend to any parent.-
Jamey Berg 10/19/2017 5:07 PMMy son is 12. I thought it was very applicable. One of the case studies was on a 13 yr. old girl and her cell phone use, so that really hit the mark. However, they also had one each on a much younger kid and then a college student regarding gaming. They also had one on middle school cyber bullying. I think it could be good for kids as early as 10 or so. I'm not sure they could really take in the messaging any earlier than that. It's definitely good for any high school aged kids as well. So the age range could be pretty broad. -
Sheila and Everett Sjolseth 10/18/2017 7:47 AMI've been looking forward to seeing that when it comes to my city. What age range would you suggest if thinking about kids seeing it?
