I took some stuff to Far West Recycling in Hillsboro.  They take all kinds of things that Goodwill, Salvation Army, Value Village, and others won't take that will keep you from disposing something into the landfill (i.e. mattresses, older electronics, sleeper couches).  I also like the Habitat for Humanity Reuse Center in Beaverton.  They took all my excess landscaping supplies (like cement blocks, extra lumber, etc).

That was a really good idea taking things you can't use to them! I'll bet a lot of people (myself included) would not have thought of that!

I just spent the weekend going through 40 years of old Christmas cards.  I scanned the ones I want a record of and then re-used them for multiple craft projects or prepped them to be donated.

I started doing Blue Apron.  Not only can I cook without wasting food (as the sizes are perfect proportioned) but there is also no waste as everything in the box is recyclable.

Looking for other ways to recycle?  Donate old crayons to "The Crayon Initiative" or hair/fur trimmings (if you own a beauty or pet salon) to "Matter of Trust" who use it to clean up oil spills.

I found this cool free app.  It allows you to log your 3 daily gratitudes for the challenge electronically.  I used to keep a paper journal but this is much easier.  If you don't like this one there are at least 20 other apps that do similar things.

Attended Veg Fest at the Convention Center yesterday.  Got a lot of great literature about becoming vegetarian/vegan, tried a lot of delicious/organic samples,  and learned how to do things more eco friendly (i.e. wash clothes). This was one of my favorite products sampled.
