Atlas Turner 10/20/2017 11:34 AMAnother goal I have accomplished is creating new resources for the communities I identify with. I was able to connect with staff members from the counseling center to start up a counseling group for LGBT students, not only will it benefit Cascadia students, but also UWB students as well. It shows how celebrating national coming out day can effect change in meaningful ways. -
Atlas Turner 10/20/2017 11:29 AMIt has become easier, and easier to talk about sustainability with my peers. Using my platform as a student representative I find myself in more and more conversations with others regarding sustainability all the time. I am seen as a resident "expert" among those I work with. It is great that they have an interest in the subject, and want to see the changes I envision. -
Atlas Turner 10/20/2017 11:27 AMNature walks have been difficult considering the massive amounts of rain we have been receiving lately, but they are still possible with the proper gear! -
Atlas Turner 10/20/2017 11:26 AMYesterday, a few students from my cohort and I got together for an octoberforest event, at Post Doc Brewing. It was fun to see how our presenter connected forest conservation, to water quality, and beer quality. It was a fun filled event, and I am happy to have gotten an opportunity to see a professional having fun with his work while incorporating a meaningful message. -
Atlas Turner 10/16/2017 11:03 AMToday I had the opportunity to speak to whole class about my position at Cascadia, and Sustainability initiatives that are currently happening. -
Atlas Turner 10/10/2017 9:58 AMMy coworkers should be prepared to receive some valuable information, and thoughtful encouraging to be more sustainable. If there is anything I know from this challenge is that there are many areas where my team already performs sustainable practices. -
Atlas Turner 10/09/2017 10:24 AMAnyone have any ideas on how to advocate for green vehicle purchasing options in the future, we have two Prius, and two vans that are fairly new.
