diana patton 10/25/2017 10:25 PMI see where I made my mistake this year. I set myself 3 different tasks each day and would complete two out of three, instead of three out of three. If I had only given myself 2 tasks each day,my results would have been far better. Oh, well. I do have to mention a really great book for anyone which I've been enjoying and learning so much--The Urban Bestiary, Encountering the Everyday Wild, by Lyanda Lynn Haupt. Seriously, if you want to read about wildlife in our urban/suburban setting, you'll love this. So much info in an interesting book! -
diana patton 10/23/2017 8:38 PMI couldn't add to my post, and I wanted to say that I watched this cute squirrel dig a hole, I guess to bury an acorn. The other photo is looking out our church window, Christ Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, onto our little garden. Thanks to warm weather, it is still blooming. -

diana patton 10/19/2017 7:14 AMThe weather continues to be lovely which certainly contributes to my pleasure outside! I took videos of the two deer I encountered yesterday. One kept staring at me but didn't scamper away until I was maybe 15 feet away. I'm also going to post some pix of one of the spring twin fawns I've been following. They regularly come by our yard and this youngster (spots gone because he was born early spring) was enjoying a drink on the top of our pool cover. Yikes! I was glad he didn't go through. The trio just walked sedately, casually, away when I went out to my garden. -

diana patton 10/16/2017 8:33 PMTook a little extra will power today to do my walk as I was really busy, but it's kinda' fun watching the squirrels scurry around, see what trees are turning color, and even see how far you can kick an acorn on the sidewalk. I'll try to post some photos next...one will be the blue morning glories, one a cavorting squirrel, and one the largest frog in my little garden. I'm hoping the smaller ones are already hibernating and safe, or otherwise hidden from predators.. -
diana patton 10/13/2017 8:02 PMThe challenge is going fine so far.Of course the good weather helps on my challenges! Would you believe my blue morning glories finally bloomed?! And the largest frog is still around doing his frogly duties. The squirrels are almost hyper; they've so many nuts to gather and store.
