    I volunteer at the Family Services and make assurance calls to a 81 year old lady. Last Saturday, she called me and sounded hungry and sad. I was able to figure out that she had not eaten and wanted to talk to someone. I quickly found out what she likes to eat, went to McDonalds and got her favorite food. Took it to the assisted living center and showed up at her door step with her favorite food. She was very happy and hugged me. She tried paying me back, but I didn't accept the money. I sat and chatted with her. It felt really good to see that smile on her face. That 1 hour was well worth living. I have also signed up as a volunteer at a Hospice center for vigil support. I feel satisfied in what I do.
