since i like the flavors of mixed greens and other veggies in a salad, i've learned i don't really need salad dressing (which usually contain refined sugars)... just add a dash of olive oil and play with other seasonings.  delish :)

i've found it is tougher learning about paid sick leave in our area that i thought it would be. will expand my search to nationally. intuitively it seems paid leave would be a good idea.... i mean who wants to expose their co-workers and then catch it again? ..... who wants to be handling and serving food to others while sick, knowing they might be passing it on? ..... but bills must be paid - so....

here's some info. i find handy to use washing machine runoff or captured shower water to flush a toilet (pour it directly into the bowl not the tank as can build up grime in tank):
"If you pour the greywater, from the bucket, directly into the toilet bowl, the toilet will.....flush. For reals folks. Takes more water than the toilet would normally use to flush (at least half the bucket) however the net effect is zero as this water would have gone down the drain anyway in the shower.

So there you have it - the totally low tech, no cost way to recycle some of your greywater."

we watched and discussed the documentary Cowspiracy last night (available on Netflix streaming).
here's a link of key resources used in the documentary:   http://www.cowspiracy.com/facts/

although it starts off with a little heavy handed feel of propaganda and background music, it does settle into a fact evidence-based realm and highlights a number of destructive factors of human carnivore appetites. i do recommend the movie as an intro-expose to be supplemented with evidence-based resources, like the link above, and further research exploration.

we're already 95% vegan but now i will finally give up my splash of  half 'n' half and swap to nondairy "ice cream"
