In my challenge to reduce one-time paper towel use, I am finding that many public facilities, event venues or restaurants do not offer the option of a hand dryer. I am grateful my workplace provides the choice.

Giving up refined sugar is harder than I expected. It's not just avoiding candy, refined sugar is in all sorts of products such as granola bars.

I am mentally preparing for my "use my muscles" challenge. I will only be using the stairs for the next two weeks, that's 9 floors each way at least twice a day. This is definitely going to help my hill-walking.

I selected "Use Muscle Power" - my plan is to use the stairs instead of the elevator! Huzzah!

I selected AVOID DISPOSABLES as one my challenges this year. Specifically, I want to stop using paper towels and start using the hand dryers in the restroom. Through a waste audit, we discovered that 21% of our building waste is from the restrooms, which is primarily composed of discarded paper towels.
